CCur, February 5: With the directive of the Kom Student Union Manipur, the Kom Student Union, Churachandpur was formed on February 4, said a press communique.
It said that the KSUM was earlier a conglomerate ofAmol, Chiru, Foireng, Kharak, Kom, Puram Tribes, but as most of the constituents of the KSUM except for Kom tribe had their own student unions, the Koms felt that the existence of KSUM had no more validity and thus formed the KSUC.
It has further appealed to the public of Churachandpur in particular and the rest in general to extend their support and co-operation to the newly formed student union.
The student body has further announced its members including Sonkholien as president; S Rocky Kom as vice president; M Silas Kom as secretary and other four secretaries.
