Imphal Feb 25 MNS NNN UNA : A political party meeting was convey at Manipur People’s Party (MPP) office regarding the caught of huge consignment of drugs worth over Rs 15 crore yesterday from Pallel police check post where one army officer was arrested.
The political party resolved to demand CBI into the case.
The all political party will also conveve a public meeting on coming March 2 at MPP office and further awareness campaign against drugs will be carried out throughout the state.
BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th. Chaoba said that he will bring out the case in the BJP National Council meeting which is scheduled on March 2 & 3.
The all political party meeting was attended by 11 political party which are as follow, BJP, TMC, NCP, MPP, CPI, MSCP, CP-M, BSP, JD-U, Forward Block and JD-S.
The Army Defence Wing PRO, Colonel, Ajay Choudhury and five others who were arrested with a huge consignment of drugs were produce before the court Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Thoubal. Aribam Noutuneshwari Devi, Monday afternoon, where they were remanded for 12 a day in the police custody.
A case was registered with the Kakching Police station under FIR no. 26(02)2013 under the section 21/29/ of the ND & PS Act soon after their arrest with a drug worth over Rs. 15 crore.
The PRO, Colonel, Ajay Choudhury has claimed in his statement that he is to be innocent by saying that he was cheated his colleague traveling along with him about the drugs.
After the police remanded the Colonel in their custody, a joint interrogation team comprising of Narcotic and Border Affairs team will start investigation over the case.
Police source said that the Thoubal district Superintendent of Police Dr. AK Jhalajit had sent intimation to the 57 Mountain divisions to take up legal action against Colonel Ajay Choudhury.
Meanwhile, PRO of the defense Wing New Delhi has assured all possible action against Ajay Choudhury if he is found guilty.
