Governor, CM, others extend Sajibu Cheiraoba greetings
IMPHAL, March, 20: The Governor of Manipur, Dr. KK Paul has extended his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma panba (Cheiraoba)- the Manipuri New Year which falls on March 21.

In his message, he stated that the new year is an occasion for the people to rejoice and look forward to the future with hope. It is time for making resolutions to usher in a year of peace and harmony in the state. He also wished that the occasion will be the harbringer for a happy and prosperous life for all the people in the state irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Manipur has been though serious turmoil due to difference among the communities but the bond of friendship has become even stronger.

On this occasion of Sajibu Nongmapanba, the Governor wished for all to rededicate themselves once again to the promotion of friendship and unity among the different communities in the state for making a better Manipur. He once again extended his best wishes to all the people of Manipur.

In another message, the Chief Minister of Manipur, O. Ibobi Singh also extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba which falls on March 21.

In his message, the CM stated that Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba mark the parting of the old year and the onset of the New Year. On this auspicious day, young people seek the blessings of elders for a happy long life. As people celebrate the festival with religious fervor and gaiety, he also wished for all to resolve to strive for the wellbeing of all the people in the state and to renew their thought and work with unity and dedication to make Manipur a more peaceful and prosperous State. The CM once again wished for the festival to bring prosperity, health and happiness to all.

The Inner Manipur Member of Parliament, Dr. Thokchom Meinya also conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur for the Cheiraoba (New Year) 2015.

In his greetings, the MP expressed his solemn desire to maintain peace and harmony amongst the people of Manipur.

`Let us all work together towards achieving a better life in the State in the coming New Year. Let the Almighty God bless all of us a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2015,` the message said.

The CPI (M-L) Liberation, Manipur State Committee has also conveyed greetings on the happy occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba to the people of Manipur.

According to a release of the party, it wished for the day to bring peace, happiness and prosperity to the state and also prayed for harmony, love and connection among all classes and distinction in the people and also prayed for the betterment of all, it said.

In another press release the All Manipur Students`™ Union also conveyed best wishes on the occasion of Sajibu Nogma Panba Cheiraoba to the people of Manipur. The union also prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity to reign in the state. It also prayed that the auspicious day will bring development and hope to all, it said.

The United Committee Manipur (UCM) also expressed greetings on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba to all the people of Manipur and those residing outside the state as well.

According to a release of the UCM, it wished for peace, prosperity and harmony to all. The party also wished for all the different castes and creeds residing in the state to live peacefully together and to bring prosperity to their own customs as well. The UCM further wished for the people to celebrate the auspicious day by spending the day with their families and enjoying the feast and to offer prayer to Chingu Lai at Cheiraoching, it said.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Manipur Pradesh has conveyed greeting on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba to the people of Manipur and especially to the Meiteis.

According to a release of the party, it prayed for people residing in both hills and valley to live peacefully together and prayed for longevity.
