IMPHAL, Jul 5: Medical team of Thoubal Battalion of Keithelmanbi Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) saved the life of a snake bite victim on July 4. The victim namely Shanti (48) w/o Elangbam Biren Singh of Khangabok in Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while farming and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of Thoubal Battalion of Assam Rifles.

Transit camp constructed

IMPHAL, Jul 5: As part of ongoing ‘Border Area Development’ projects being undertaken by the Assam Rifles, Chassad Battalion of Somsai Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) constructed a transit camp at border village Kashung, under Kasom Khullen Block in Ukhrul district and handed over the same to village authority on June 30. The construction of the transit camp proved to be a worthwhile project as it will help the travellers and other persons in transit to the village to use the services of this transit hut in the village, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
