Governor, Gurbachan Jagat, in a Durga Puja message said , “I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Durga Asthami, 2012.
Durga Puja with all its glory and euphoria has arrived again to the delight and reverence of crores of Indians, eclipsing religion, caste, creed and language. This festival especially in the eastern region of the country has been very popular and has been able to reinforce emotional integrity among various people of the country. I join all in Manipur in praying to Goddess Durga for peace, prosperity and harmony. I beseech all to rededicate ourselves on this providential event for a better, more prosperous and peaceful Manipur so that every citizen gets the benefit due to them without any discrimination. May the Goddess shower her blessings on all the people of this trouble rocked State for a better future.”
Chief Minister, O Ibobi said , “I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Durga Puja which falls on 23rd October, 2012.
The Durga Puja festival symbolizes devotion to Goddess Durga and the triumph of truth, righteousness and virtue over evil. May this festival inspire us to work for the unity and well being of the state and promote peace, love and harmony among all sections of the society in the State for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur.”
Gaikhangam, president MPCC greeted the people of Manipur on the day of Durga Puja.
He wished the festival a prosperous state free from any sort of killing and discrimination.
