Imphal, Oct 20 : Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen, VSM GOC 57 Mtn Div and Chairman, LBA of Sainik School Imphal paid a farewell visit to Sainik School Imphal on 20 Oct 2012.
He inaugurated the state of the art Squash Court constructed under the special project released by Ministry of Defence. After the inauguration ceremony, he interacted with the staff in the school Conference Hall. He complimented the staff and Cadets for producing outstanding achievements in all fields mainly in NDA. He exhorted all the staff members to inculcate human values in general and integrity among all cadets in particular.
During the Chairmanship of Maj Gen B Poonnen the school achieved unprecedented success in NDA results, Academics, Co-curricular and Sports fields.
He was instrumental in shaping important infrastructure development projects like Water Scheme, Water Distribution System, Security Wall Extension, Squash Court, Drill Square etc.
Meanwhile Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen, VSM, had promised assistance to this remote village in South Manipur. 1/11 Gorkha Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division distributed solar lanterns to the villagers by handing them over to Mr Pauhminglen Village Chief Samulamlam on 20 Oct 2012. This has brought some relief to the people.
