Imphal, May 5 : FireHouse an American hard rock / heavy metal band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1989 will perform tomorrow at Hapta Kangjeibung. C.J. Snare – lead vocals, keyboards , Bill Leverty , Michael Foster – drums and Allen McKenzie bass guitar arrived here today and addressed the media.
They said their message to the youth is keep practising and work hard and avoid drugs. They strongly addressed the need of using drugs as performances and talents will be washed away by resorting to such vices.
The band reached stardom during the early 1990s with hit singles like “Don’t Treat Me Bad” “Reach For The Sky” and “All She Wrote”, as well as their signature ballads “I Live My Life for You”, “Love of a Lifetime”, and “When I Look Into Your Eyes”. At the 1992 American Music Awards, FireHouse won the award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock New Artist.
They had performed at Dimapur yesterday and was pleased with the turnout and the reception they got at Dimapur.
In December 2004, FireHouse became the first major international rock band to play concert dates in northeast India. The band’s first Indian concert date was in Shillong, followed by two more dates in Dimapur, and Aizawl. The band’s first Indian date, in Shillong When the Maharaja of Tripura Kirit Pradyot Deb Burman invited them, took place in front of a sold out stadium crowd of over 40,000, setting a record for that city.
They said they would love to perform at other cities of India but they need invitations and arrangements. Their performance can go on for about two hours depending on the reaction and the acceptance of the people.
