Imphal, Mar 22: President of India greeted the people on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Chieraoba. Governor said in a message, “When entering into the new year, we should adopt new resolutions for the coming year. On this occasion we should dedicate ourselves to gathering renewed strength and confidence in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship, brotherhood and peaceful co-existence amongst all sections of people, irrespective of caste, creed, language and religion. I am confident that the Sajibu Nongmapanba will be celebrated in its true spirit. I wish and pray that it will usher in an era of peace, prosperity and progress in Manipur.”
Chief Minister, O Ib obi singh said , “Sajibu Nongma Panba marks the end of the Previous Year and the onset of the New Year. On this auspicious day, youngsters seek the blessings of elders for a happy long life. With the advent of a New Year, let us strive to work for unity and peaceful co-existence amongst all sections of society in the State.
I join the people of Manipur in celebrating the festival and convey my sincere wish that the New Year will herald an era of peace, prosperity and progress for all of us.”
Manipur Pradesh Congress committee President Gaikhangam, who is also a Home Minister has sent a message to the people of the state on the occasion of Meitei New Year day. Let the on set of the new year wishes in peace and communal harmony in the state.
Dr. T. Meinya MP has also sent a message on the occasion.

Maj Gen Binnoy Poonnen, VSM, GOC, Red Shield Division and all ranks of the Division extended their warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of “SAJIBU NONGMAPANBA (Cheiraoba)”.
‘May this festival brings peace, joy and prosperity among the people so that Manipur may flourish and be blessed with everlasting peace’, said the General.
Major General U K Gurung, YSM, IGAR (South) and All Ranks of Assam Rifles extend a very warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of “sajibu nongmapanba cheiraoba”. IGAR (South) also expressed that this festival may herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in Manipur and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood in the region.
