Imphal, Mar 30: Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division organized an ex-servicemen rally at Bishnupur on 30 Mar 2012. The rally was addressed by Commander, Loktak Brigade which was attended by 60 ex-servicemen including veterans, war widows and dependents. The key issues highlighted during the rally were generating re-employment opportunities for ex-servicemen in the state and looking into the possibility of encouraging every ex-servicemen to join ECHS. The dependents and war widows present in the rally also emphasized the need to increase the number of reserved seats in engineering and medical colleges in Imphal, with the increase in number of defence personnel in the region. The Loktak Brigade assured the ex-servicemen fraternity that any difficulties in processing of documentation, their financial or pension dues or any other problems faced by them will be addressed at priority and at appropriate level. Medical facilities were also provided by ADS, Loktak Brigade to the ex-servicemen on culmination of the rally. Based on the success and positive response it was decided to conduct ex-servicemen rally on monthly basis in future.
The Army Battalion at Tamei under the aegis of Red Shield Division provides sports equipment like Footballs, Football nets and 07 pairs of shoes to village authorities of Chuchekhope.
