IMPHAL, Mar 14: Unidentified persons suspected to be militants lobbed a hand grenade at the ABC godown Khuyathong this evening at around 6:15pm.

The grenade exploded near a window of the godown, however it failed to inflict any casualty except for damaging the window on the first floor of the godown.

A labour of the godown when asked about the explosion, informed that the incident happened when he was out and that he had no knowledge about the incident.

He further informed that there have been no threats or demands from any militant outfit.

The godown is owned by one AK Aggarwal, who is currently out of station.

Soon after the blast, concerned police officials including OC Imphal west Balaram arrive at the scene and took stock of the incident.

IMPHAL, March 14: Appealing to the owner of the bus which met with an accident on February 23 along the Imphal Sugunu road at Wangoo Lamkhai Awang Khongang Makhong to meet with the families of the injured victims, the JAC formed in this regard has appealed to the Indo Burma Sugnu Road Bus Owners Association to help find the owner of the bus.

Speaking at a press meet at the Manipur Press Club, this morning, president of the JAC, Sorokhaibam Nobinchandra informed that in case the bus owners association failed to produce the owner of the concerned bus by March 16, the JAC will prohibit all buses under the association to ply along the Imphal Sunu road from March 17.

IMPHAL, March 14: A bullet tanker bearing registration number MN01-6151 met with a road accident near Tadubi Oil Pump under Tadubi PS today morning around 5 am, while the driver Chingakham Boy, aged 28 years, son of Ch Kundo Singh of Andro succumbed to injuries. His dead body was handed over to family members after conducting post-mortem at the RIMS Mortuary, Lamphelpat.

Earlier in another road accident yesterday at around 1 pm, a middle-aged woman was mowed down by a speeding Tata Magic vehicle at Pallel-Chandel Lamkhai. The woman identified as Nepram Ningol Soibam Ongbi Ahanbi Devi, aged 42 years, wife of late S Bobby of Pallel Chandel Lamkhai succumbed to her injuries at RIMS Hospital, Lamphelpat. Her dead body was also handed over to family members after post-mortem.
